How We Work

ยป Our Philosophy

During the initial phase of the project, HPS will work with your team by teleconference to identify the project objectives and services you desire. Once the goals of the project are identified, HPS will provide a project scope of service agreement detailing our understanding of the project along with the cost. If necessary, we will modify the project scope to meet your specific needs.

Our typical consultative engagement involves a comprehensive evaluation of information  including data, documents, interviews, and meetings. The analysis will be performed on your program for existing programs, sponsoring hospital, medical community, and referral network. In-depth work will beDoctor and Nurse working together in a Doctor's office performed off site (prior to and following the site visit), as well as on site. During the site visit we will meet with key stakeholders which may include both the hospitalist program and sponsoring hospital's administrative team, the hospitalist providers, and referring providers (PCP's and Specialists). We will also meet with key medical staff leaders and various sponsoring hospital departments integral to the success of the hospitalist program (e.g. Nursing, Case Management, Social Service, Pharmacy, Emergency Department, Medical Records, Information Technology, Admissions Office, Billing Office, Finance Department, etc.).

Throughout the engagement, HPS will ensure that all key stakeholders have an opportunity to provide their perspective and feedback. One of our goals is to obtain an objective and comprehensive assessment of your practice (for existing programs), sponsoring hospital, medical staff, referral network, local community, and outlying communities. During this process we will bridge communities, consensus build, and identify collaborative solutions.

The in-depth analysis will include initial drafts and final composition of desired reports. We will work with you during this process to ensure all of the project deliverables are achieved.

HPS can make a return visit to present our findings upon request. If you are interested in this service we will provide the cost in the project proposal.

HPS can also provide assistance with the active implementation of our recommendations upon request.

Timetable

ClockThe timetable for completion of the project will be dependant upon the scope of services requested (e.g. project deliverables). Initial off site work will commence as soon as a signed agreement is in place. The site visit logistics will be influenced by the availability of key stakeholders. The delivery of the draft(s) and final report(s) will depend on the timing of the site visit. A reasonable time frame for delivery is no sooner than four to six weeks after the sight visit and perhaps longer.

As part of the project deliverables HPS will provide telephone support for six months following the completion of the project to answer any questions you may have at no additional charge.
